Meet Our Teachers & Staff
Creating an inclusive, playful, caring, stimulating, and secure early learning environment for our students, our dedicated teachers bring invaluable skills and expertise to Ross Valley Nursery School. Their depth of caring and understanding creates a solid foundation for each child's individual experience at school. In addition to teaching credentials, the staff's combined advanced education includes ECE certifications, as well as membership in the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

My favorite thing about working with preschoolers is their purity of heart. I love their enthusiasm, their energy and spirit. The children give me many reasons to smile every day.

People do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing.
Wendy Lee

My favorite activities with the children are art, music, and circle time. In these moments I am able to see the children in their most pure, free, and creative space. The sheer joy that they express is contagious.
Barbra Hawkins

The best thing about working in preschool is knowing that I had a part in creating a learning foundation that would help the children throughout their future.

We find these joys to be self evident: That all children are created whole, endowed with innate intelligence, with dignity and wonder, worthy of respect. The embodiment of life, liberty and happiness, children are original blessings, here to learn their own song. Every girl and boy is entitled to love, to dream and belong to a loving ‘village’.

Roxie Lopez
Junior, Senior and Pre-K Class Teacher
My favorite part about working with young children is being constantly reminded not to take life too seriously and to enjoy the present moment.
